The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Supporting Institutional Performance: An Analytical Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Employees in Government Institutions in Karbala Governorate

Abstract
This research aims to analyze the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in supporting institutional performance in government institutions in Karbala Governorate. It does so by identifying the extent to which AI applications contribute to improving the accuracy, efficiency, and speed of decisions. The research is significant because it addresses a modern trend in public administration, as well as the substantial role of AI in enhancing institutional performance and achieving optimal resource utilization.
The research employed a descriptive-analytical methodology, utilizing a questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. A total of 122 questionnaires were distributed to a sample of employees in Karbala Governorate's government institutions, and 96 valid questionnaires were returned for statistical analysis. The data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods to test the study variables and measure the impact of AI on institutional performance.
The research reached several conclusions, most notably that the results demonstrated that training and development related to AI technologies help enhance employees' ability to adapt to digital transformations, which positively impacts both institutional and job performance. The research also recommended the need to focus on designing specialized and continuous training programs for employees in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in order to raise their technical efficiency and develop and enhance their readiness to deal with smart systems
