Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of the digital economy on enhancing economic growth in Iraq during the period 2003-2022, within the context of efforts to diversify sources of economic growth. The research's significance lies in its focus on a contemporary topic with strategic implications for the Iraqi economy, as well as the limited number of econometric studies addressing the digital economy in Iraq.

The research employed a descriptive-analytical and econometric approach, utilizing semi-annual time series data. Economic growth was measured using the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate, while the digital economy was represented by a set of indicators (e-services, telecommunications infrastructure, and e-governance development).

The research reached several conclusions, most notably the significant and positive impact of the digital economy on enhancing economic growth in Iraq during the period 2003-2022. This reflects the role of the digital economy in improving the efficiency of economic performance. The research also recommends several measures, the most important of which is increasing investment in digital infrastructure and expanding e-services to achieve sustainable economic growth.
