The Technological Gap between Developed and Developing Countries and the Possibility of Reducing it

Abstract

This study aims to identify the technological gap between developed and developing countries and to examine the economic, social, and political factors that influence the possibility of bridging this gap. It also seeks to determine the role of each factor in either enhancing or reducing this gap. The goal is to stimulate innovation, promote international cooperation, and facilitate technology exchange between developed and developing countries, thereby fostering economic and social development in developing nations and achieving global economic and social justice. The study employs a descriptive-analytical approach to identify the causes of the technological gap, the factors influencing it, and the necessary strategies for bridging it. One of the most important findings is that technological development and catching up with developed countries can be challenging due to the rapid pace of technological advancement. What is considered advanced today may become obsolete within a few years. This means that technological progress must be adaptable to future changes. The study recommends encouraging and supporting researchers, utilizing human resources to benefit the country, preventing the brain drain of talented individuals to developed nations, and creating a suitable environment with the necessary infrastructure, expertise, and skills to implement advanced technological developments
