##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.main##
Abstract
This study explores the pivotal role of the Digital Economy as a strategic lever for reshaping sustainable economic growth patterns, with a specific focus on the Iraqi context. The research aims to analyze the transition of the Iraqi economy from an excessive reliance on oil rent toward a diversified economy driven by knowledge and technology.
The study examines the current state of digital infrastructure in Iraq and the challenges facing digital transformation in the financial and service sectors. It posits that adopting emerging technologies—such as Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing, and electronic banking services—directly contributes to reducing operational costs, enhancing transparency, and minimizing financial waste, thereby supporting the pillars of economic sustainability.
The applied analytical findings indicate that while Iraq possesses promising potential for digital growth due to a rapidly expanding internet user base, this progress is hindered by legislative and bureaucratic obstacles. The study recommends the formulation of monetary and fiscal policies that support innovative entrepreneurship, the development of legal frameworks to protect e-commerce, and investment in digital human capital. These steps are essential to ensure long-term growth characterized by resilience, inclusivity, and the ability to withstand global fluctuations in energy prices.
